Built for learning, in the open.
Who makes this, how the math works, and the standards it is held to.
What this is
Capital Allocation is a command center for personal finance, built around one idea: you should be able to see your whole financial picture (net worth, growth, budgets, portfolios, debts, withdrawal plans) in one place, computed precisely and recalculated the moment a number moves. The goal is an all-in-one platform that earns a place beside the best tools in the space.
It is independently built and maintained, and the roadmap is driven by what makes the planning sharper.
What this is not
It is not financial advice, and it does not pretend to be. The tools are educational models: they run the arithmetic of the assumptions you give them, label those assumptions where the result appears, and stop there. Nothing here recommends a security, a broker, or a strategy for your situation. For that, talk to a licensed professional.
How the math works
Every calculation is deterministic: the same inputs always produce the same outputs, with no randomness, no live market feeds, and no hidden adjustments. The formulas are the standard ones: compound growth, withdrawal-rate arithmetic, cost-basis and gain/loss accounting as brokerages publish them, and each result names the assumptions it depends on. The reasoning behind that stance is written up in Why projections are assumptions, not guarantees.
Disclosures
- Company logos and names are trademarks of their respective owners, shown for identification only. These companies are not affiliated with, and do not endorse, Capital Allocation.
- The built-in ticker reference supplies identity data only, meaning names and groupings. It is never a live price, rate, or return.
- Allocation drift, targets, and rebalance differences are measurements of the target you set yourself. Nothing here suggests what to hold, buy, or sell.
- Ticker fields are labels. A holding’s manual value is used when present; otherwise quantity × manual price.
